CASAC Pasta for Prevention Dinner

Chautauqua Alcohol & Substance Abuse Council’s fifth annual Pasta for Prevention spaghetti dinner was held from December 8 at the First Covenant Church, 520 Spring Street. Local chef Bill VanStry, Tony Bellanca and other volunteers cooked up the homemade sauce and meatballs.

On behalf of the CASAC Board and staff, thank you for generously donating your time to help at the recent CASAC Pasta for Prevention fund raising dinner. This was the third annual pasta dinner for CASAC and the decision this year to serve the dinners was a good one, even though it meant the need for more volunteers! Without the many volunteers, this event would not have been possible.

The dinner was supported by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Chapter 30714, Northwest Savings Bank, Ronco Communication & Electronics, Inc., Support Enterprises of The Resource Center, and the CASAC Board of Directors.

Other sponsors include: Cott/Cliffstar Corporation, Petri Baking Products, Pepsi Bottling Group, Sandee’s Bakery, Stroehmann Bakeries, The Carriage House, The Coffee Exchange, Top’s Friendly Markets, Wal-Mart, Wegman’s, and Stedman Corners Coffee.

The event was a great success and the funds raised from the dinner will be used towards youth substance abuse prevention services in our community. Finally, we could not have done this dinner if it were not for all our volunteers! Again, a sincere “thank you”! Together, we are working to make a difference in our community!
